The first towers of condo development have begun to roll out in the Toronto region.
The towers are the first of what will be up to four million units in the downtown core.
All four are on the ground and ready for occupancy by tenants.
A spokesperson for Toronto-Dominion Properties, the developer of the towers, says the company has received more than 1.8 million applications for the units, and it expects to start leasing them within six weeks.
The first towers have been built in the former Queen’s Park residence of former Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife, Laureen, in the east end of Toronto.
They were completed in 2012, and they were supposed to be completed by the end of the year, but were delayed because of the global financial crisis.
The project was put on hold by the global economic crisis.
In an interview with CBC News, the prime minister said that while he would welcome new housing in Toronto, he would be against building a tower on the site of his former residence.
“I’m not going to build condos here.
It would be ridiculous.
That’s the sort of thing that would make me angry.
You’d build a house on the spot.
It’s crazy,” he said.”
What I am for, what I’m for, is to build new housing.
The city’s getting hammered.
I would love to see the city revitalized.
It should be revitalized.”
The second tower is the same building as the first, but the owners have been working on it for about three years.
It is being built by developer Cushman & Murray, the same firm that built the first towers.
The building is set to open in 2018, and is expected to be fully occupied by tenants by 2019.
The project was supposed to open by 2019, but has been delayed because the global recession hit.
The company has been working with local governments and tenants to prepare the building for occupancy.
The buildings have been designed to provide residents with the conveniences and amenities they expect in their own home, including a gymnasium and fitness center.
Cushman is also working on a second tower in the neighbourhood of Kensington Market.
The third and final tower, the tallest, will be built on a former steel plant site on the east side of the city.
It will be designed by architect Peter Dorman and is set for occupancy in 2021.
Dorman is working with Toronto Mayor John Tory to bring new housing to the area, and has been making the case that the city is in the midst of a housing crisis.
The Mayor says there is a lack of affordable housing in the city, and he wants to see it expanded.
“If we’re going to solve the problem, we need more affordable housing,” he told CBC News.
“This is the only thing that can help solve it.”
