A day after the boat landing was announced, the Mumbai police filed a complaint against a businessman, Shri Dhananjay, for allegedly harbouring the Indian flag on the boat, The Hindu has learnt.
The incident was reported to the police on Saturday morning.
When contacted, Shreeram Agarwal, an associate of Shri Agarwala, said the police had received the complaint.
“The boat landed in the harbour.
We have no idea why it landed there.
The boat is a tourist boat.
It is not a commercial vessel.
We are investigating the matter,” he told The Hindu.
The police had registered a case against the man, who lives in Valsad Nagar, on Saturday.
According to the FIR, the boat was on the river Ganga at 6:15 am when it suddenly disappeared.
The police, however, did not disclose the exact details of the incident.
Shri Agadwal, however said the boat had been in Mumbai for a long time and that the captain was travelling on the other side of the river.
